We are looking for a senior mainframe developer.
An opportunity exists for an experienced Mainframe developer to join this team to contribute to the ongoing development and support of the mainframe and database tiers (database is on a DB2 / OS390 platform.
The role will provide exposure to all stages of the systems development life cycle; the successful candidate will participate in analysis and design sessions, work with the rest of the team to complete development, manage the changes through integration and user testing and deliver them into production. In addition, the role may require support of testing environments, manage turnovers, plus provision of L2 support for the production support team.
Participation in lively discussion about technical and business issues is common meaning that strong communication skills and willingness to express their own views as well as listen to others is vital.
Experience required includes extensive knowledge of the mainframe programming languages (Natural/Adabas, JCL and Cobol). Experience in relational databases, preferably DB2 development on the mainframe platform is also required.
Skills Required
Must have minimum 5 years of experience in mainframe programming using Natural, Adabas and/or Cobol. Understanding of database modeling concepts is required plus practical experience in development of stored procedures. A proven track record in designing and developing technical solutions for a range of problems/requirements using mainframe technologies is required. Familiarity with structured design and strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Familiarity with TAPS mainframe system and company tools and procedures would be advantageous
