Our client, a leader in its domain, is looking for a Network and Communications Systems Analyst, responsible for providing implementation, administration and technical support for the network and communications systems that support the day-to-day work and communications of the firm.

 

· Provide administration and support for the network and communication devices, systems and services delivering VoIP telecom, LAN, WAN, Blackberry (BES), OCS 2007, video conferencing and wireless LAN functionality to the user base.

· Provide monitoring of all communication and network devices, systems and services in order to achieve maximum capacity, quality and performance.

· Implement network designs, configurations and tuning to support the most efficient voice, data and video internetworking possible.

· Provide problem resolution for all hardware and software elements of the data and communication networks to meet established Service Level Agreements and maximize availability.

· Collaborate on testing, implementation, administration and support with National IT team members, IT Leaders across the firm and external partners.

· Overall responsibility for all office data (MPLS) and telecom network MAC’s and repairs with our partners.

· Responsible for preparing budgeted figures for network and communications systems and services and to track expenses related to these systems.

· Responsible for the development and maintenance of documentation related to architecture designs.

· Support and lead the development of firm-wide training initiatives related to network and communication devices, systems and services.

· Assist with the planning, installation and maintenance of cabling, racks, and MDF and IDF closets.

· Participate in monthly (once every 4 weeks) rotational 2nd level IT leader support (M-F from 7:30am-8:30pm for general support requests and Sat-Sun 9am-5pm for emergency support requests).

 

 

· Bachelors Degree or 5+ years industry experience with Cisco, Tandberg and BES.

 

· CCNA certification.

· Firewall certification an asset (Cisco, ISA and/or Astaro).

 

· 3-5 years experience with WAN\LAN, MPLS and PRI technologies.

· Strong knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, SIP, H.323 and RTP.

· 3-5 years experience with Cisco devices (layer 3 Switches, Routers, VLANs).

· Experience with data and telecom cabling and wiring systems, design and installation.

· Strong video conferencing experience – Tandberg is a plus.

· Strong experience with Blackberry Enterprise Server v4.0 – v5.0 an asset.

· Strong documentation and/or technical writing skills.

· Microsoft desktop and application support is desirable.

· Experience with Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP and Active Directory an asset.

· Experience with Microsoft Office 2007 and Visio 2007.

· Experience with the administration of Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 is desirable.

· Experience researching, evaluating, and recommending new tools and technologies for converged data/voice/video network environments.
