Responsible for day-to-day maintenance, documentation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of information systems. In addition, the Network & Systems Administrator provides helpdesk support for installation, documentation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all information technology assets.
Major Activities/Deliverables:
Network & Systems Administration:
• Responsible for all aspects of network and systems administration including local and wide area networks, servers, desktops, laptops, printers, applications, and telecommunications.
• Keeps current with new network, systems, security, and internet technologies, applicable laws and regulations.
Helpdesk Support:
• Responds to inquiries and requests for assistance pertaining to information systems.
• Identifies problems, researches, troubleshoots and resolves technical support issues pertaining to information systems and user requests.
• Provides basic training on PC and application usage as required.
• Keeps current with new applications and internet technologies.
Documentation:
• Develops and maintains network and systems documentation, maps, diagrams, etc.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation related to resolution of support and helpdesk issues.
• Maintains helpdesk request and resolution documentation as directed.
Qualifications and experience
• Extensive experience in Microsoft Windows, Server and Exchange
• Experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting hardware and Microsoft software (Level 2 support)
• Experience in Active Directory environments including maintenance of users, groups, and permissions.
• Experience in Exchange administration including user and mailbox management.
• Experience maintaining backups using Backup Exec
• Understanding of LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, FTP, VPN, firewalls
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Extensive experience in a helpdesk environment
• Familiarity with telephone systems
