We are currently looking for a System administrator in charge of a data center. This position requires a technology specialist in network and application server operations. Under the authority of the Director of Operations, this person will work in collaboration with the system administrator team to deliver projects within set deadlines.
The mains tasks consist of administrating Windows domains and Microsoft Exchange servers, and installing, configuring and planning Active Directory, LAN, WAN and VPN. The position holder will also be in charge of data center equipment, servers and monitoring, as well as evaluation, setup, management and optimization of software, databases and others. He will contribute to the setup and monitoring of technology infrastructure projects and to the application rollout in a Windows/Linux environment. He will also be a part of the on-call support team.
Qualifications and skills:
· Bilingual (English and French)
· Detail, service and team work oriented
· Good organization skills
Requirements:
· College degree in computer science or related area
· Minimum 5 years experience in Microsoft Windows server system administration
· Experience in planning and physical installation of computer systems: wiring, servers, etc.
Is an asset:
· Knowledge of Hyper-V and VMWare environment
· Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2003 or 2007
· Network infrastructure experience including SAN, Active Directory, communications and remote-access equipment
· Experience in managing Active Directory in a corporate environment
· Exposure to system management/performance monitoring
· Understanding of network security
