We are searching for three senior Desktop Application & Productivity engineers to add to the group's existing Montreal-based team. These deeply technical individuals will own continuing design, engineering and deployment of the portfolio of tools used horizontally by every person in the Firm (Microsoft Office Suite, Browsers, Desktop Search, Acrobat, JRE's, etc) on 65,000+ desktops. Our infrastructure includes a variety of platforms including Windows XP, Citrix Virtual Desktops, and soon Windows 7. This is a very dynamic and innovative role requiring candidates who live and breathe the 'end-user experience' or 'client-side' of technology. We are looking for strategic thinkers who can help us take our desktop application platform (Office 2010, IE8, Virtualization) to the next level.
Skills Required
A successful candidate will be extremely detail oriented, have excellent prioritization skills, very strong written and verbal communications skills and wide range of technical knowledge about the challenges unique to desktop application engineering, development, and deployment. It will be particularly critical that the person understands how to engineer things to scale, given the Firmwide portfolio of desktop products in scope. We are looking for a candidate who has good overall technology expertise and is willing to take on new challenges, as our infrastructure may move in technical directions that we cannot foresee today. Ability to work in a dynamic, global team oriented environment are key to this position.
Addition Job Requirements:
• Subject Matter Expert in Administration and Large Scale Deployment of Key Enterprise Applications (Office, IE, Firefox, Acrobat) as well as core Windows Internals
• Deeply Knowledgeable in Group Policies and AppSensefor Configuration Mgmt and Security
• Experience with Software Deployment Tools and Patch Management
• Experience with Desktop Integration, Scripting, and Automation including Powershell, Batch/Windows shell, Windows Installer, and Perl.
• Well versed in Application and Desktop Virtualization technologies
