Position is in the CRM Practise Area. The group provides CRM applicaitons for the whole firm - cross-divisionally. Code Development, Analysis and translation of requirements.
Skills Required
- Strong Sybase skills required.
- Strong Transact-SQL required with deep experience working on data-related issues -- ability to read complex SQL and write complex stored procedures as necessary to meet business requirements. Knowledge of performance tuning, include query optimization, caching strategies, minimizing blocking, etc..
- Familiarity with working a replicated database environment and with triggers is helpful.
- Client-side skills:
a) Unix skills required: moderate ksh scripting (primarily to load files, create process monitors, interface with Sybase). Familiarity with operating in UNIX/Linux environment.
b) perl knowledge (using Sybase libraries) is very helpful, or willingness and ability to learn perl essentials fairly quickly.
Business/Analytical skills:
- Ability to take a written or verbal requirement (depending on complexity) and (given familiarity with the database over time) translate it into a technical solution.
- Ability and desire to handle business logic complexity and understand/consider nuances and issues which might not be apparent on the surface - to dig into the data or possible contradictions or unseen use cases.
