Senior Systems Architect
Essential Job Functions and Tasks
-Produce reference system architecture diagrams for use by engineering and other departments
-Produce reference call flows for use by engineering and other departments
-Translate product management business requirements and product vision into engineering platform and solution architecture
-Communicate technical constraints and decisions to executive management internally or externally
-Architect and validate large-scale applications and systems
-Design, prototype, and validate technical infrastructure choices
-Contribute as a hands-on developer on prototypes and network integration
-Be responsible and accountable for architecture deliverables
Required Skills
-Significant experience with internet connectivity, firewalls, Linux, Unix (Solaris) and general systems knowledge (OS install, MySql, Apache, Tomcat, threads, virtualization, RAID, Memory allocation)
- Extensive hands-on experience dimensioning and configuring hardware including HP and Cisco switches, routers and load balancers.
- Extensive experience of networking technologies including firewalls, TCP/IP, routers, switches, DHCP, DNS, STP, VLAN, VPN and LAN Security requirements as well.
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- At least 7 years experience in technology development and management
Experience
- Excellent technical knowledge in IP data networks in both wireless (cellular) and wired (enterprise, internet) environments
- Strong technical knowledge of Messaging, Content Management and Multimedia content processing and delivery
- Experience in designing, integrating, and supporting software and hardware solutions in large Linux environments.
- A strong working knowledge of networking, firewalls, security, configuration of switches and routers is mandatory.
- Knowledge of data networking and messaging protocols (GPRS, SMSC, MMSC, gateways) in mobile operators environments
Education
- Engineering or equivalent technical degree
